If you are looking for something unique, customising your ring is an ideal option. Tailor every detail of the ring to your taste, from the designs to the diamond shape. Read our guide to discover different steps to design your own personalised ring that is one of a kind as your relationship.

1. Set your budget
It’s always important to have a budget in mind before building your bespoke ring. This will prevent you from going overboard and help you to easily decide on different elements of the ring. Be sure to share your budget with the jeweller and determine which elements of the ring are most important to you.

2. Allow time for the ring to be made

Designing a customised ring may take longer, be sure that you allow enough timeline for the ring to be designed and made. The process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months.

3. Choose your metal

Gold, silver or platinum are some of the most popular metals for jewellery. Or, you can pick something a bit more distinctive, like rose gold, titanium, or mixed metal design. Each metal has its own characteristics to create a different look and feel for your ring.

4. Choose your stone

One of the most exciting steps of designing your bespoke ring is choosing your stone. While the diamond is the most popular and the most traditional for an engagement ring, there are many gemstones you can choose from. Think about coloured diamonds or precious gemstones, like ruby or semi-precious gemstones, like amethyst. There are plenty of options.

Show your jeweller your inspiration and allow him to suggest you some options.

5. Sketch your design
Do you have a specific vision of the ring in mind? starting by browsing different already-made rings from the jewellery store and the internet and saving a couple of ring designs that you like. Show them to your jeweller and work closely with them to sketch the design, from initial sketches to CAD designs. Once you are happy with the design and gemstones, you’ll move on to the final step: creating your dream ring.
