  • What happens if there are diamonds and/or other gemstones in my jewellery?

    The price we offer you is calculated on the entire contents of your GOLDPak, including any diamonds or coloured gemstones.

    You may of course feel free to remove any stones you would like keep prior to sending your items to us; or, if there are stones of significant size in your items that we can remove, we are also able to send the stones back to you should you wish to keep them.

    The GoldCompany will also buy loose diamonds not set in jewellery; all diamonds are first assessed by the DCLA to determine quality.

  • What do we buy?

    The GoldCompany buys precious metals & diamonds - any old gold, silver, platinum, and diamonds you want to sell. Because we are buying for refining and not re-sale, the condition of your items does not affect the value you will receive.

  • How much will you pay me?

    Prices are based on weight and purity. The higher the gold content, the higher the value. The GoldCompany pays 80% of the daily gold price for gold items that need to be refined, and up to 98% of the gold price for gold bullion and gold bullion coins.

    • 24K gold 999 is pure gold. 
    • 18K gold 750 contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 75% gold.
    • 14K gold 585 contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 58.3% gold.
    • 9K gold 375 contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 37.5% gold. 

    The GoldCompany is a refiner - all gold is melted and refined into bullion form. Price is always calculated on the daily gold price, not on retail valuations, as The GoldCompany does not purchase for re-sale.   • How do I use The GoldCompany GOLDPak?

    Your GOLDPak will contain everything you need to securely send your gold to The GoldCompany, including a prepaid and insured Australia Post satchel.

    You will just need to complete 3 easy steps: 

    • Complete a form with your contact and nominated payment details
    • Take a photocopy of one piece of picture identification
    • Seal these two things together with your gold, silver, platinum, and diamonds into the secure padded envelope and your GOLDPak is ready to go.

  • Is The Gold Company delivery system free?

     Yes. 100% Free.

    Not only is the The Gold Company’s system free. There is no obligation to sell, and in the event you are unsatisfied with the price we will return your items at our expense, insured up to $10,000 with Australian Air Express couriers.

  • Will you return my gold if I do not accept your offer?

     There is no obligation to sell, and in the event you are unsatisfied with the price The GoldCompany will return your items at our expense immediately the following business day. Your gold will be securely packaged and couriered back to you with Australian Air Express couriers, and insured up to $10,000.

  • How soon after you receive the GoldPak will you pay me?

    Once we receive your GOLDPak, The GoldCompany will contact you by phone with a valuation and offer on your items the following business day. If you accept our offer, The GoldCompany will pay you immediately the same business day, either by direct deposit into your bank account or by posting a cheque, whichever your preference.

  • How do I know when you receive my TheGoldCompany package?

    The GoldCompany will automatically send you an email the moment your parcel arrives at our offices, as well as an automated SMS if you listed your mobile number in your online GOLDPak request.

    You can track the status of your package with Australia Post at http://www.auspost.com.au/track/. Simply enter the tracking number listed on your 'Customer Copy' - this 'Customer Copy' was included in the original GOLDPak The GoldCompany posted to you.

    Please note that Australia Post does not upload every parcel into their online system, but you may phone them on 13 13 12 with your tracking number for updated status. Please feel free to call The GoldCompany on 1300 506 707 if you would like assistance in tracking your parcel.

  • What do you mean by immediate payment?

    The GoldCompany will effect payment by cheque or make a direct deposit into your nominated account on the same business day that you agree to the value for your gold.
